From the page: "Flashblock 1.5.2 Homepage by Lorenzo Colitti, Philip Chee Never be annoyed by a Flash animation again! Blocks Flash so it won't get in your way, but if you want to see it, just click on it." This little add-on is wonderful. It puts an end to all of those dancing mortgage people and silly flash adds. It brings sanity back to surfing.

One of my favorite all-time add-ons - disables the annoying automatic flash animations - although you can whitelist a site if you want to.

I have noticed that flashblock is not blocking as well as it used to - don't know if sites are getting more sophisticated and blocking flashblock somehow or it is Firefox 3.X.

How is this different from the IE lawsuit result, "Click here to activate and use this control."? =P

If you use StumbleUpon (I'm hoping you do if you're reading this) you need this. It blocks most annoying flash/animated videos from starting on their own.

Flashblock is an extension for the Mozilla, Firefox, and Netscape browsers that takes a pessimistic approach to dealing with Macromedia Flash content on a webpage and blocks ALL Flash content from loading. It then leaves placeholders on the webpage that allow you to click to download and then view the Flash content.

Flashblock currently blocks the following content types:
* Macromedia Flash
* Macromedia Shockwave
* Macromedia Authorware
