I did get the need to place the blame of McCain's loss on Palin. The reality is that the republicans had little to no chance of winning this year because of the mess they have made for the last 10.
To the commenter who said - "Don't let the heathens win the War on Christmas!" - Christmas is a Pagan/Heathen festival that was renamed and co-opted by the early Christian church (as is Easter) so I don't think Heathens are engaged in a War on it :-)
