DreamingEye discovered 23 months ago- Damn. This is what I wanted to do my senior thesis on. I've already been talking to professors, have most of my thesis committee assembled, and was getting ready to start. I'm glad someone did it... but what will I do now?  choim rated 22 months agocomputers, science, interfaces - This is like reaching into the computer monitor and moving things or altering parameters with your hands. Many of us work better this way. For example, I despise monitors that don't have a physical volume-control knob. A knob is instantaneous but the clickclickclick method takes mental attention and extra time.
 Coolies rated 22 months agoscience - Wow, optimization using mechanical constraints as well as software. I'm not sure what extra abilities this will give the optimization algorithm, but I'd say it definitely makes the system easier to conceptualize. Very Cool =D
 jaxkesa rated 23 months agocomputer-science, science - Interesting optimization technique using physical (mechanical) constraints aswell as software......A few negative comments below but the guy in the video sums it up quite well at the end; it balances the software with the users' intuative understanding of suttle issues that may be difficult to quantify.
