For those who believe this page as the true Islam, please go read the Qur'an in its entirety. These people are NOT MUSLIMS since Islam is a religion that does not need "reform". It is our lack of understand that is the issue. It does NOT promote terrorism, it does NOT promote inequality of women. For those in favour of the page, know that this isn't Islam. It is a modified version of it to fit your ideas and beliefs and not God's.

Finally a group of Muslims willing to stand up against the hate and death being preached by thugs and "clerics" around the world.

Are these folks for real?? FROM THE WEBSITE: *** "Taking our religion back one Muslim at a time We believe in the re-interpretation of Islam for the 21st century where terrorism is not justified under any circumstances. We believe in the separation of religion and state. We believe that democracy is the best form of government. We believe in the promotion of secularism in all forms of political activity. We believe that equality for women is an inalienable right. We believe that religion is a personal relationship between the individual and his or her God and is not to be forced on anyone." *** So are these the "Moderate" Muslims brave enough to fight for change in their religion, and culture? I have my doubts, since words are cheap, and the teachings of Islam encourage deception, and subversion, in the fight against the Infidel, and frown on the notion of the "Peaceful Muslim", but for now am willing to give them the benefit of the doubt.

I applaud FMAT and those who came, but the turnout leaves much to be desired and nearly all of the primary Muslim "advocacy" groups (CAIR, AMC) failed to send delegates or participants.
Why? IF as President Bush has stated, we are fighting a "tiny number of extremists who have hijacked Islam," then why aren't moderate Muslims standing up en-masse and defending there religion against these extremists if in-fact they are such a small minority? The next person to answer this question will be the first.

Thank you so much! The silence of moderate muslims has been a big source of bitterness for me since 9/11/01.
From the page: "After September 11, many in the Muslim world chose denial and hallucination rather than face up to the sad fact that Muslims perpetrated the 9-11 terrorist acts and that we have an enormous problem with extremism and support for terrorism."
