Performers take stage names for many reasons, often because their real name is considered unattractive, dull, unintentionally amusing, already used, difficult to pronounce or spell, or projects the wrong image. That's how Frederick Austerlitz became Fred Astaire and Patricia Mae Andrzejewski became Pat Benatar. The following names bother the hell out of me. I say we band together and FORCE them to change! Zeljko Ivanek - a total "hey, it's that guy!" The man is in everything. Cobie Smulders - Robin from "How I Met Your Mother." I can take Cobie or Smulders, but not both. Mariska Hargitay - I keep wanting to say Hartigay. Her name is like pig latin or something.
