Idea about how to handle the mouse when a program loses focus, with a demonstration video and some tips on how to incorporate this into your own applications.

In my opinion, it is never justified that applications steal focus. But alas, since it does happen, we programmers have to take that into account when writing mouse handling code.

This article provides an elegant and functional approach to dealing with scenarios in which the MouseDown-MouseUp chain may be broken.

I just have to say, is this a real big problem for a lot of people? I've been computing for a long time with a mouse and I've been in support roles for applications that use mouse interaction and I have never come across this particular problem.

good idea for things like drawing programs but not so good for everything else. otherwise this could be added in by the window manager and programs wouldn't have to do anything.
