The comments on a previous post about this topic have been enlightening, including one that was so insightful that I had to share it. 'SlumJack Homeless' is a former property manager who has been homeless and living on the streets (read more about his predicament here). He shared his reasons for choosing to live on the streets. - cont'd" It's also called "Human Socialism". I think I'll puke.

BC Courts recently decided that it was illegal to not lot homeless sleep in temporary shelters in public parks. Government lawyers are now trying to say that we should kick them out because there's "space in the shelters they're not using". This would be a good list for them to read. Perhaps there's a -reason- the shelters aren't being used?

Or you could just try not being homeless. Most people aren't just born homeless, they become homeless. Which is sure as hell preventable even if it means a shitty neighborhood. I rather have to worry about my possessions being stolen than worrying if I will ever have possessions.

It really makes you think about what the homeless really need, not what we feel we need to push on them.
