Nevertheless, lawmakers have been forging ahead, looking for new ways to bail out the irresponsible parties that created all of the problems. The worst part is that they are actually receiving support and encouragement from lobbyists, consumer activists and other people who are all too content to throw innocent taxpayers to the wolves. - Incorrect assumptions about the entire process and misinformation about what actually needs to happen. The truth of the matter is that if banks and lenders are in a damaged position, the economy suffers. See the present slide in interest rates and the Bernake debacle that affects all of our futures. I do not argue that the crisis was a mistake to offer mortgages, but no bailout will cause more damage to an already flailing economy.
