cdkleitch rated 5 weeks ago- cartoon from http://politicalhumor.about.com/od/bushcartoons/ig/Bush-Cartoons/The-Bush-Legacy .-26T.htm From the page: "Bush does only two things well," said one of the most distinguished historians. "He knows how to make the rich very much richer, and he has an amazing talent for f**king up everything else he even approaches. His administration has been the most reckless, dangerous, irresponsible, mendacious, arrogant, self-righteous, incompetent, and deeply corrupt one in all of American history." I could not have said it better. Thank you Natural for the link! http://natural.stumbleupon.com

- "As far as history goes and all of these quotes about people trying to guess what the history of the Bush administration is going to be, you know, I take great comfort in knowing that they don't know what they are talking about, because history takes a long time for us to reach."-- George W. Bush, Fox News Sunday, Feb 10, 2008 hahahahahaha fuckin IDIOT...

ailsadear rated 6 weeks ago- dead on assessments for the most part.

AvangionQ rated 6 weeks ago- From the page: "In an informal survey of 109 professional historians conducted over a three-week period through the History News Network, 98.2 percent assessed the presidency of Mr. Bush to be a failure while 1.8 percent classified it as a success. // Asked to rank the presidency of George W. Bush in comparison to those of the other 41 American presidents, more than 61 percent of the historians concluded that the current presidency is the worst in the nation's history. Another 35 percent of the historians surveyed rated the Bush presidency in the 31st to 41st category, while only four of the 109 respondents ranked the current presidency as even among the top two-thirds of American administrations." ... I would have to agree that Bush deserves to be pegged at the worst of the worst spot, being followed by Buchanan, Fillmore, Johnson, Nixon and Pierce ... [ADDENDUM] ""No individual president can compare to the second Bush," wrote one historian. "Glib, contemptuous, ignorant, incurious, a dupe of anyone who humors his deluded belief in his heroic self, he has bankrupted the country with his disastrous war and his tax breaks for the rich, trampled on the Bill of Rights, appointed foxes in every henhouse, compounded the terrorist threat, turned a blind eye to torture and corruption and a looming ecological disaster, and squandered the rest of the world's goodwill. In short, no other president's faults have had so deleterious an effect on not only the country but the world at large."" ... a sentiment that I could not agree with more ...

- You can't "historically" judge a presidency until it is history. Some historians believe we can't even look at Reagan's presidency with a clear eye. I don't like Bush either, but I'm just saying.

- the worst is a bit of an exaggeration. and by a bit i mean big. i mean, yes the guy did some horrible and mis-informed stuff. he lied cheated, and blah blah blah. but the worst? that's a bold word. plenty of gross injustices things have happened in the history of the US. Vietnam comes to mind. i think a few more people died there than in the middle east, but feel free to fact check that one on your own historians. andrew jackson? basically wiping out the native american people? ever hear of him? so ya, G.W. is bad, but not the worst.

- It's a bad administration, but of course these historians will think of Bush being the worst, because he was in their time. They didn't live when Buchannon was president, and they can't really feel the same way people felt when Hoover was president, so it's a little unfair to say that when they didn't go through with those guys.

ccannizz11 rated 6 weeks ago- I think when bush talks about history looking fondly upon his presidency at some undefined point in the future, he is counting on the idea that those historians will be casting their votes on diebold machines.
