More of these, less of McMansions. My condominium seems huge and inefficient next to this (and it is!) SIPs are a big huge deal. They are pre-fabrication without the lack of quality, and they are really starting to take off.

I wonder how long they were built to last and if they aren't meant to last longer than say a few years-does the company have a recycling plan for the homes. Either way sounds AWESOME.

The company claims up to 30% to 70% energy savings for their octagonal yurts (built with R-28 walls and R-42 roof panels) and a temperature difference between inside and out of over 35° F with no internal heat source. That's a pretty substantial savings in both money and energy, and you'll probably be the only one in your neighborhood with an octagonal yurt, which gets extra points for style. It would be cool to see something along these lines used for disaster-relief shelters - after hurricanes, earthquakes, floods ... seems like it (the design) could be easily tweaked.

With a house like this, I could afford to travel more. Man, this is worth looking into!
