It's been working fine in Paris for the last two years. However, we need more bike lanes, less assholic car-drivers who believe that the road is theirs, and... well, why is Montmartre so hilly ?

a better idea than the last. If you can get people to actually use them, this might be worth the cost. Better yet, rent them out much as you would charge to ride a bus.
