Scientists at the Technical University of Denmark created a refrigerator that uses magnets to cool instead of electricity by finding a cooling method which uses magnetic materials instead of electricity. Although these refrigerators first prototype won't be available till 2010, these... more

Neat fridge that needs no juice... except the orange kind.

New product defies the laws of physics! ...It of course requires electricity, its just more energy efficient.

Imagine the implications if the entire population of the industrialised world replaced their refrigerators with one of these babies.

Magnetically powered refridgerator! Wow, these eco scientists are hopefully beginning to surpass our expectations!

From the page: The method used involves opposing magnetic fields to increase the temperature of materials. The heat energy is transported through a non-volatile fluid (like water) and then thermodynamically reversed to a cold temperature. Scientists have already been able to cool a room from 20 degrees Celsius to 11 degrees Celsius. Don't get caught with this one. 'Thermodynamical reversal' is scam-speak.

This is what happens when science, bad writing, and a university PR shop come together--meaningless hype. This sounds like a bleeping perpetual motion machine.
