Very well written and interesting article detailing the history of the Volkswagen and the 75 year anniversary of the order to develop The People's Car. It was given on the 22nd of June, 1934. That order was handed from the German Government to one Dr. Ferdinand Porsche and eventually resulted in one of the world's most popular vehicles, the VW Beetle. While Dr. Porsche and his company had a hand in the original design, the German Government decided to create a new company to build these cars, and Volkswagen was born. Great reading...
