Homeless Art and his faithful companion. Art lived in a mesquite bush when I met him and he collected cans for his meals, though he could have afforded a modest place he chose to send his social security to his mother in Oklahoma.
Art was bright and articulate but he had no desire to participate in the world as most people do. Dignified yet aloof. I befriended Art and spoke with him for weeks before discovering his plight. He would'nt tell me where he was staying but one day I followed him and discovered his secret. I paid Art for the privilage of taking his portrait.
