Imagine a high-speed rail line that could get you from San Francisco to LA in 2 hours and 40 minutes. That dream appears to be coming true, thanks to work by the California High-Speed Rail Authority. After getting a green light by State environmental impact assessors, they've begun implementation of an 800-mile bullet-train system that will connect Sacramento, the San Francisco Bay Area, the Central Valley, Los Angeles, the Inland Empire, Orange County and San Diego. Trains traveling at 220 mph on the systems are forecast to carry up to 100 million passengers per year by 2030.

At Last, we could really use that in Texas, but oh no, Southwest Airlines won't allow it.

It's about time we got going on high speed rail in this country. I wish they would site one in the Midwest.

This is a bitter pill for those of us who live in the North bay, Who for years have suffered with only a two lane freeway going down the 101, which gets so conjested it is a nightmare. We have been trying for decades to get Bart, trains, anything to help, but L.A., the ones who take our water, our road monies, everything (our roads look like KABUL) are getting their bullet train!!! Hurray for L.A. where all the important people live! Hack, hack, cough! cough! We want our bullet train! We are the REAL Green folks!
