tbhurst discovered 4 months ago- From the page: "In January, Scientific American writers unleashed an ambitious plan to halt global warming, eliminate our dependence on petroleum and the substantial trade deficit, boost the economy and create 3 million jobs, and brighten the dismal forecasts for the mid twenty-first century."

gavinhudson rated 2 months ago- Let's-go so-lar, clap-clap clap clap clap! From the page: "Development of such a system could provide almost three-quarters of the nation's electricity by 2050."

- 30,000 square miles of solar panels. You people are idiots. You think you're saving the environment? Mining for oil in alaska would be less damaging the the environment than blanketing a huge area with solar panels. Nothing could grow there we would have to kill everything that lived there to build it. It would be like we dropped a nuke on the southwest that spread solar power instead of radiation. Think god damn it.

greenbodie rated 4 months ago- Solar power could be a big deal for the future of electricity generation and producing transportation fuel.
