Xtine66 discovered 12 months ago- This is an absolutely necessary website; I wish to hell it weren't. Purebred horses that were successfully bred for brains, beauty, skill and/or usefulness can be found languishing/suffering in barns, pastures, auction yards, kill pens. Finding horses of your desired breed/type/bloodlines through horse rescue is not impossible. The same is certainly true of grade horses, who are either purebreds without papers or mutts. It's far easier to find grade horses who need rescuing - their numbers are legion. All but a very few rescued horses are willing partners in their rehabilitation, and they eventually become trusted and trusting, appreciated and appreciative mounts and/or companions. The offspring of horses who are bred merely for colo/ur and/or despite obvious physical flaws run a much higher risk of neglect and abuse. Horses with good homes usually have (or had) the ability to perform certain physical activities - ranch or farm work, showing, racing, lessons, trail rides, etc. Even horses used strictly for breeding are exercised. Pity the deformed, ill-bred beasties who can't do anything because of their breeders' ignorance or stupidity. Not every horse who is fit only to be an ugly pasture ornament is lucky enough to be a pasture ornament; bless the ones who are, and God help the ones who aren't.

b00jum rated 3 months ago- ESSENTIAL reading for everyone involved with horses. Really entertaining to boot!

- Fugly is as Fugly does. Fugly Horse of the day is a no holds barred look at the underbelly of the horse industry. In her own, sometimes humorous, sometimes vicious way, FHOTD exposes all. It makes for great reading and lively debates.

- This site features some really unfortunate horses. It's not the horses' fault they are less-than-pretty and not structurally sound. The breeders should be flogged, covered with bacon fat and tied to a fire ant nest which you then stir with a stick. Hell is too good for the irresponsible (sub)humans who perpetrate these breeding disasters.

Artdoc rated 7 months ago- One of my favorite sites. Hits on often overlooked, ignored, and sometimes just plain unforgiveable practices in the horse industry. Valuable information amidst snarky, sarcastic, and often hysterically funny comments. Not for the easily offended. Discussions range over a wide variety of topics and no punches are pulled.

7HL rated 10 months ago- Snarky commentary on the breeding of poor quality horses, silly training techniques, dangerous/bad behavior around horses, and anything else that annoys me!

- This is an outstanding comintary on todays horse world. Way to many stupid people using horses just to make a quick buck without a care in the world for the horse. This is an open forum so anyone can express any opinion, good or bad. Very good information here.

officeslacker rated 12 months ago- I know nothing about horses and yet I find this site and the commentary fascinating. be sure to read the comments!
