Not too hard. I wrote a walk through for anyone who's interested. Step 1: Send Cop and Redhead across. Step 2: Send Cop back. Step 3: Send Cop and Girl Across. Step 4: Bring Cop and Redhead back. Step 5: Send Mom and Girl across. Step 6: Bring Mom back. Step 7: Send Mom and Dad across. Step 8: Bring Dad back. Step 9: Send Cop and Redhead across. Step 10: Bring Mom back. Step 11: Send Mom and Dad across. Step 12: Bring Dad back. Step 13: Send Dad and Boy across. Step 14: Bring Cop and Redhead back. Step 15: Bring Boy and Cop back. Step 16: Bring Cop back. Fun puzzle. This takes a while, but eventually you can rule out everything but the right next move. Now can someone tell me why the parents beat on their kids when the other parent is gone?!

This isn't difficult at all and there are variants of it everywhere- it;s a well-kniwn puzzle. Still, pretty nice.
