qwertica discovered 44 months ago- It's time to join the dumpster diving Freegans! "We are the monster." Talk about living one's beliefs...

OhioISbad rated 11 days ago- This type of action does NOTHING for the environment. It does however make the people doing the actions feel good.

emmam0rgan rated 11 days ago- I'm trying to make my mind up about Freeganism. I didn't review the page when I first gave it a thumbs up 4 months ago, but then I came across it again. BigDaddyB http://bigdaddyb.stumbleupon.com/ makes a point in his review that I have taken on as an issue for further thought. Most people who come across Freegans for the first time become instant admirers of their efforts, understandably so, but I guess there are disadvantages to some degree. The amount of food that is produced and wasted in the Western world is frightening, and while I can appreciate that, perhaps, some of these people may sound a bit sanctimonious...hear me (an objective observer) out on their behalf. I imagine that these people have the integrity to do what they're doing because of their awareness of over-production and waste. While over-production and waste remain, these people are putting in some effort to rectify the problem. Yes, there is always an alternative- grow your own, but a problem remains, and the Freegans are doing something within their own capacity to help. As for accusing them of being lazy...what's easier and more convenient...shopping in Tescos (or wherever else) or spending hours looking through waste to find something edible?

cortielha rated 12 days ago- Just not my kind of thing. I feel ashamed. I do.

jinky rated 13 days ago- i love this philosophy. a bit more localism is needed imho

BigDaddyB rated 2 weeks ago- Self righteous assholes. Heaven forbid, someone should join society and produce something. Telling me I am to blame for all the worlds ills because I like to have a job and feed my family. News to the hippy assholes, if everyone did what you are doing, you wouldn't be able to do it long, food supplies would dry up. Leading to more loss of life.

travistarrant rated 2 weeks ago- It all sounds nice, but why don't these people just go to local church missions to get the food that is donated by grocery stores and restaurants that they are getting rid of like my son and I do?

2004carlt rated 2 weeks ago- I'd have more time for these people if they grew their own food rather than looking in skips for it. Even though they don't fund or buy in to the system, they are still dependent on it.

Nubbie rated 3 weeks ago- lazy assholes expect everybody else to pick up the slack for them.
