FlameWarrior discovered 6 months ago- I saw this (http://www.techspikes.com/2008/03/04/popular-desktop-applications-and-their-onl ine-alternatives/) nonsense and decided to make a table for people who viewed it. Hopefully this will help some people who were misled by perhaps one of the worst charts ever.
Update: I'm aware of the fact that the original list had web apps, but it wasn't a good list because it often missed its target (PayPal is not an Excel Spreadsheet...). My point was to say that web apps can't replace real ones, and since the original list had free alternatives, I stuck with free alternatives. And yeah, I've a temper. - Some of the recommendations were good. Some were just stupid, like google desktop..Yahoo Widgets please. Some weren't recommendations at all just opinions from someone that probably doesn't use the particular app being listed. Writing stuff down instead of using Money? Um, once you get older you'll understand.
