Opt out of the Blame Game
...Compassion is the Answer...

From the page...
Looking for the cause of our problems gives us a momentary feeling of righteousness. We are right, and others are wrong. There is nothing we need to do because the other party is at fault.

But the spiritual truth is just the other way around. Jesus knew what it was like to be unjustly attacked, yet he refused to play the blame game. When a woman was about to be stoned by her community for committing adultery, he asked those without sin to cast the first stone. In one of his most famous teachings, he suggested we take the log out of our own eye before complaining about the speck in another's eye. Instead of emphasizing the faults of others, Jesus emphasized their goodness. He was critical of those who tried to build themselves up by tearing others down.

There is not enough compassion in the world. That's my belief. We judge and blame and shame and disallow people their mistakes. People are human and entitled to mistakes. Even if those mistakes are an error in judgement and seemed "premeditated" they are still mistakes.

My thought for the day: "I hope I can show enough compassion to others so that when I make a mistake I can receive some too." :D
