"A Sonnet for Ensomniac" Sleeplessness, restive sanctuary Of the damned in thought; A constant, twice binding knot That only an Alexander can resolve. And even within this pale inlet, pastel Half-lights spiral endlessly through the maze, Redouble trails left in a haze Of cobalt smoke as fractals of the last time round; absolve The whole, and sign for yet another toss. But if the sleep perchance to dream is missed, There is what may or may not be a while, sitting Upright, wide-awake within a trite, belittling Weeness of the hour; small change and lists Of what one might see if only flown Through dusty distances, vagaries and yesterdays alone. Simplicity, symmetry, and an unerring focus are featured with each posting on Ensomniac, and while I have written some time ago concerning the beauty of this site, it seems that my own enjoyment of what is posted here had always kept me doing it again. Well, tonight, it seems ripe for reposting. It may be cliché in the expression, but of course it is said over and over again: this world is a truly beauteous place! Even so, for my money, great beauty is lost in the company of its kind, and if there are mistakes in the presentation of many sites, it falls to prolixity for blame. Often, too much is concentrated in too little a space in such a way that the eye has no time to dwell on any one aspect of what may be seen with such ease. That is, there are so many things to see that one sees nothing. Not so with this gentle site! Each specific entry focuses on singularities and unities within a given posting, comment, photograph, or painting. This I enjoy tremendously! Eyejar and but few other sites accomplish this so well, each from a different origin or perspective, and yet it's there and such a comfort to the eye, Paken in black and white, Eyejar in colour; within Ensomniac, all these, but the subject matter, the content centres on enormities of form, again, as I have mentioned so many times before, the beauty of the monolith

Very Good EXHIBITION OF IMAGES   "Sleeping Artist" Chuck Siebuhr  The site of Ensomniac is fresh. There is a mix of Dali and Speilbergian charm in his site. Something ethereal from the outside world. Let me be honest, not that it reduces the beauty but sometimes I feel saturated by famous piece of art appearing at different sites. Sometimes I feel frustrated on images being crowded by frivolous quotes, comments, framing, glitters etc. Seeing the site of Ensomniac, exhibiting paintings, drawings, photographs, woodcuts, posters , illustrations, computer arts, where almost every painting and artist were new to me, was a delight both visually and intellectually. The maximum images are that of Digital art , a medium of tomorrow and on the rise, for which the stumbler has a fascination. An added bonus is the display of his own work. Jay N Garfinkle the owner of this site, is an artist by his own right. Do not miss out his own work : A matter of perception. Mediation, .Hermit Logic.  It was a pleasure to see just Durer's masterpiece woodcut, The Large Turf. My choice of paintings would be these two: All in my Heart by Mia Makila, which from a distance looks unending but up close is a simmering mass of flecks of color, and Rebirth by Osraldo Gonzales, with the face of a woman in the forfront and the twilight at the back as a composition. That's not to say the other paintings aren't worth seeing. If you enjoy the Surrealism you will likely enjoy the drawings by Sal Hunter, Phil Fensherert, Bernard Dumoine, If you like saturated colors and intense light, take pleasure in Heaven we wait by Daniel Merriam. If you're interested in Digital Art, you will enjoy the technique by Paata Kunashvlli, Michael Wilby ,Bryloz and others.. There are subjects with a social theme, some with strong symbolism, and in the last section a selection showing the way to Futurism ,a movement which rejected past traditions and embraced modernism, through works of Sukru Ufuk Nayman, Paul Gerrard, Rick Spitz and others. To me the paintings are all spread over without any sequence, as it is usually in a site and I was going to complain but I overheard a voice from within raving about them and so I hold back. I found the site of Jay stimulating. First was the exposure to a new form of art, a good third of which I looked around for a second time and a few which I could have looked at for hours. It was intriguing comparing how various art had been done. Some used the space as infinite; others had no space at all but layers of dimensions. Some used images to define a shape and others up close were just swirls of intermingled color that give form only when you step away. I know what you are thinking. It would have been nice, if I linked the artists and the images , so that with a click you could have seen the work. But NO , I want you to visit the site in full to get an overall view. Good Viewing. However, the images could have been placed in a better order, some curating could have been done and reviews of fellow stumblers and use of images from their site better selected. Oh ! the sign off. The sweetest touch is his review of his daughter's site Kkuna : "A wonderful new stumbler and a beautiful young women , my daughter." This reflects the true person in him. Thumbs-up. *
