- interesting theory, although i think the revulsion felt robots in the uncanny valley would be more of a conscious choice of aesthetics and not the unconscious, primordial repulsion this article is making it out to be.

kevinryanmooney rated 3 weeks ago- yea, though i walk through the valley of the shadow of the uncanny, i will fear no evil. intriguing concept; also a good "criticisms" sections (as always, for the eternal skeptics among us) detailing evidence or lack thereof.

kish-me rated 7 weeks ago- Here is a serious chart comparing zombies and robots and corpses - I kid you not! From a wikipedia entry on the philosophical notion of the "uncanny valley" where if robots look too good but not good enough they will cause revulsion in humans. This may be man's best hope from the coming robot wars - if we design them into the valley before we design self awareness we will kill them off before they can kill us off...

djTeka rated 3 months ago- Those 'Polar Express' kids were freaky looking, yes.

GeordieBoy123 rated 4 months ago- Do not go into the uncanny valley...what awaits you there...is zombies?

geomysterio rated 4 months ago- Perhaps it IS pseudoscience. But really, when I see a fake robot person, I get weirded out. Go google the video "guys and dolls" That'll get your weird on.

JVallejo rated 4 months ago- Zombies deep in the Uncanny Valley. I knew any graph could be better with zombies in it.

Arecibo rated 7 months ago- This graph is kinda funny.

Dude. Look. A graph!! Who doesn't love an educational graph?
These science fools have gotta understand -- if I wanted human interaction, I would watch television. Ha!
Wait. That last comment is truer than anything I've ever written. Talking to people, like, in person... man, it's so overrated.- Sent my way via Bumapples!

thealice rated 11 months ago- why some robots are creepy, and some are cute.
