TwistedDelusion rated 3 months ago- A lot of hudspa was involved here.

bluesoliloquy rated 19 months ago- Interesting...especially good research for psychology students. Would make a great paper.

AtlantaHoopla rated 19 months ago- stanford prison experiment

Koger rated 23 months ago- an interesting experiment because some of the methods used by the "guards" are almost the exact same things used by the guards at Guantanamo.

Billykerr rated 25 months ago- I loved the experiment

ChrisRTFM rated 25 months ago- This was far more interesting than you may think, Culverin. The leader of the experiment, Zimbardo, was notably far less scientific or professional than one might expect. Zimbardo himself felt drawn into the situation and overlooked the state of the "prison" in doing so. The fact his wife-to-be (at that time) seemed to be the only person who questioned the morality of the experiment was perhaps the only reason Zimbardo stopped the experiment early. But I think that the results would not have occoured if it were not for Zimbardo's personal and emotive involvement (and his, uh, well-devised degrading and hellish conditions). The two types of behaviour, active resistance and zealous obedience both occour naturally everywhere, whereas openly sadistic behaviour and the complete breaking down such as that observed in this experiment do not. It brought to light some ugly and disturbing features of man kind more frightening and equally interesting than any "thriller" that you might watch at the cinema. Hehe. On a side-note, this tag should be Psychology and Research. Not crime.

culverin2 rated 35 months ago- yeah, yeah the stanford prison extravaganza.. demonstrates the behavior of idiots. 15 dollars a day? for two weeks? You know exactly the kind of person who'd agree to this.. Milgram did it right.

zerosummind rated 44 months ago- Stuff like this makes me feel as if Wikipedia will soon become one of the greatest reference tools available. I love this experiment and I love the coverage given to it.
