Software is easily cracked and reproduced because the hackers have access to the same tools that the software creators do... (and have far more options due to relaxed moral/ethical beliefs) Not quite the same with Nanotech. It's not yet common enough to see a buddy of yours with a nano-factory in his basement. From what I can tell the goal of this nano-scale encryption is to use specially coded strings of molecules and atoms as a "watermark" to identify certain substances as being true and real.
