skuzzbunny discovered 22 months ago- an in-depth but brief overview of the book "Guns, Germs and Steel" by Jared Diamond, including all major and many minor points covered in the book, as well as a variety of criticisms AND responses to those criticisms. in my opinion much better than the Nat. Geo. special, this book investigates in depth, through science as well as investigative history, why different societies have been so much more or less powerful than others, concluding that a vast amount of it boils down to geography and climate in surprising and very convincing ways.
