 thisismebecca rated 7 months ago- I hate to break it to them but being a preschool teacher is only low stress maybe if you happen to work in a posh, wealthy area where the teacher to student ratio is low, the children are not disadvantaged, and the parents are around. My job is not low stress. Most people would crack within one day of my job. I take care of 19 children with one assistant. 15 don't speak English, 3 have learning disabilities, 2 have one parent in jail, 1 is being abused, 3 have behavior challenges, 10 lack any kind of social skills, 8 have never left their mothers before (they are 4 years old), 2 don't know what their names are, 17 worry about gunfire at night, 4 live in project housing, 1 is starving because he only eats at school, and they are all supposed to be well-adjusted and academically ready for kindergarten within 9 months. Low-stress? That's not even worth laughing at.
