British University investigating use of lime to bind hemp fibres into building materials. Apparently the US government still bans the production of industrial hemp.

In George Washingtons day hemp was one of the main cash crops. It provided clothing, paper, oil, rope and many more materials indispensable to early Americans. A little research will show you that hemp/marijuana is illegal now for political and economic reasons, not health. Hemp could very well be the crop to pull us out of this recession.
