According to the World Bank, global food prices were 57% higher in March than in the same month of 2007. World rice prices have risen 96% and more for some types, between October 2007 and April 2008.

The global food crisis is really daramatic. In capitalism it's all about supply and demand. So poor people starve for rich people's made climate change.

At a time when so many are in despair about how to fuel their vehicles it is sobering to see so many in the World suffering from starvation. This is a global economy "gone mad" - is this by design? After-all it's a great way to have the masses in the hands of the rich and powerful! Nothing makes people more compliant than an empty stomach and a family in despair!
