This Portuguese wave farm is now tapping into enough constant, renewable energy to power 1500 homes. Although that is only a fraction of what's needed, new research and technology promise optimistically for the future.

So, if we want to generate a meager ten percent of our power from this stuff, we need to cover an area the size of Russia with ugly orange floaters.
