Just what I needed to go along with the Western Digital media player. I can't tell you how many times my kids have stomped on a DVD. Now I can just put them on the Passport drive instead of having to buy multiple copies of the same movies.

Ripping and encoding your own DVD's is just as legal as making MP3's of your CD albums. But there isn't really a magic ripping solution, best solution is to learn the formats and technologies.
