The only thing not mentioned here is the influence of both pets and young humans to the over/under argument... because it would ruin the whole theory. When the paper is placed in the under configuration, an errant hand or paw cannot unspool the whole role. Whereas, with the over config, you will find a pile o paper on the floor with said errant paw
