I almost felt sorry for all the dorks who ran out and threw down $600 for a phone. Almost.I think the decision to go with AT&T as the locked-in carrier was the worst move Apple ever made.

good for him. he experimented, found out the cell carriers suck (all of them), and has redeemed himself. I'll spend $299, but i really would like an SD slot PLEASE

I haven't been privy to the private conversations of Steve Jobs, but listening to his keynote the other day, it's difficult not to pick up on at least some antipathy the man seems to hold towards the entire mobile phone industry.

Interesting. I wonder if the iPhone will be the first and last cell phone that Apple makes. On September 30, 2009, I expect a new download from Apple: "Apple iPhone unlock code for whoever is interested."
