- You god damn fools. There are so many people in China they can drive around cars made out of other chinese people. Do you really think boycotting "made in china" items is going to matter one way or another? Good luck by the way I would like to see a single one of you actually pull that off.

- Millions of chinese work 14 hour days pretty much every day, making in a week what you make in an hour (or less), and your worried about copyrights? Don't buy "made in china" then. It will help the country reform when they're out of money, probably through revolution from the working class.

This really makes me wonder where it is going to end with all the contaminated, toxic and inferior knock off products from China. To a large extent we have brought this on ourselves. High unionized labour costs in developed Western nations have priced domestically built products right out of the average blue collar working man's reach. Is that the only cause? NO, not at all but it is a major factor. We as consumers insist on having cheaply built shiny new products in our instant gratification, throwaway society. We don't take the time to investigate the quality control, health and safety standards or even authenticity of these imports.
First it was contaminated pet food. Then it was toxic toothpaste followed by millions of toxic and shoddily built toys with magnets and choke hazards. Just last week diabetic testing strips made in China were also recalled here in Canada. Cheaply made cloned products are nothing new but now it is rampant and they are likely in all our homes. When are we as consumers going to wake up and start voting with our wallets? STOP BUYING GOODS MADE IN CHINA UNTIL THEY IMPROVE THEIR TRACK RECORD OF COMPLYING WITH OUR HEALTH/SAFETY STANDARDS AND LAWS! It really is as simple as that people. Time to start lobbying our governments and launch letter writing campaigns to companies that are having their products made overseas.
I feel a growing rant brewing within me so I better just step away from the keyboard right now before I spontaneously combust.
[/rant] for now.

- The differences are subtle, but you can tell which is the genuine article by how they don't tend to collapse like an accordion from hell in the event of a 5 mile-per-hour fender-bender.
