Maczimus discovered 3 months ago- From the page: "My six year-old HP laptop has never failed me. But lately, it has been making me wait. Itâ€s running Windows XP, and even after a clean install â€" once its 512K of RAM was burdened with service packs, security updates, anti-viral software and a modern browser - it becomes the Little Laptop That Canâ€t. At least not quickly."

rssn rated 2 months ago- I stopped reading after "512K MB of RAM was burdened with service packs, security updates, anti-viral software and a modern browser". For starters service packs and security updates don't use RAM in any way, if anything they would fix OS bugs that waste memory. A modern browser will use just about the same amount of memory on any OS (it is the same browser after all). The only thing left is the anti-virus which shouldn't be using more than 50MB. I've run XP fine on an a pentium 3 with 192 MB of ram (128+64). Obviously this man is doing something wrong.
