compabutch discovered 8 months ago- Congratulations, Lieutenant Butch...your citizenship was processed and approved! You will not need a green card, nor a visa card. However, Mastercard is accepted (as well as your PayPal password). Rights to any children (up into and including your firstborn) will be considered a viable ownership option be it human, alien, or otherwise for any and all existing media or that which has yet to be developed. And...most important: You must stay crunchy, even in milk. You must not be sane. You must be able to scream while waving a dead chicken over your head in a Ziplock bag, survive in a swamp and be three-dimensional. Looking forward to your stay here! Captain Filk)

Butch is keeping a clear eye on what matters. Thumbs-up: "We will know the job is complete when Cheney and Rumsfeld are both eating frozen peas off a tin plate for the next 20 years." I want that framed picture on my wall, four feet square. Salud! to all of our Canadian friends. How cool is a flag with a leaf on it! Butch points to an essay by Scott Bidstrup: there are a lot of them here -- the man can write. "In all my half-century of watching politics in the United States, including the morally squalid, sleazy Nixon administration and the scandal-ridden Reagan administration, I can't recall a time when a corrupt administration was so blatant in its disregard for the law that even the most radical and committed activists were exhausted by the sheer volume and magnitude of scandals coming out of Washington. It is truly of epic proportions and will doubtless take historians generations to finally and completely sort out...." During all of the Republican admins I remember in my half-century, I noticed the music become more boring and conventional; graphics, clothing and personal expressions become tamer; thinking becomes less bold and creative, more stultified; policing becomes more brutal; schools become more oppressive; people having less money, less joy, and less hope. Reason is displaced by name-calling. Always driving to Pottersville. They seem to be full of fear, full of "solutions" ... with a corresponding need for more authority, less risk-taking, less joy -- and a need to imprint their pallid insecurity on the rest of us.

stevedtrm rated 9 months ago- From the page: ""I swear by the God of my parents, I swear by my nation, I swear by my honor that I will not allow my soul to rest, nor my arm to relax until I have broken the chains that oppress my people through the will of the powerful. Free elections, free land and free men, horror to the oligarchy." Hugo Chavez - President Venezuela"
