I think I was 12 years old when I and a friend did this. Every day for a month we waited for the repair crew to leave then went into the drain system, going further each time. We fancied ourselves explorers of a strange new world and I still remember that summer fondly. I think this is what started my love of caves which I enter when ever I hear of one.

Um, why would you possibly want to learn about a storm drain and then go out and actually go with someone else and then take pictures of it? I mean seriously, there's a guy in the picture and he had to have someone actually go take the picture, right? and what would happen if there's suddenly a storm and there is a rush of water that starts flooding the place. And what about the snakes and other creatures that go down there? Huh? have you thought of that? Guess not, apparently he goes on to say that the ..."smaller pipe just lead to a junction with another long pipe leading off it, so I turned around and went back to the storm drain. At this point the going was a lot trickier since there was often water seeping out of the walls and the bricks were pretty slippery. There was also all sorts of pipes and things to navigate..." you mean there's a smaller pipe that goes out there,?

oooo, adventurous! I used to prefer walking through and exploring the woods around where I used to live (some parts were very pretty) until I got caught coming out by a police man and got asked all sorts of questions. Took me to his car and interrogated me on why I was in the woods. Guess it was "suspicious" or something. After an hour of telling him that I was just walking, nobody was with me, I didn't see anybody else, and no I wasn't doing anything illegal he let me go. I asked him if I was doing anything wrong and should I not take walks there any more. He told me that there was absolutely nothing wrong with walking in the woods and I could walk there if I liked, but I still didn't go back. Guess that just kinda ruined it for me >.

This seems like such a wonderful day to spend a night. I wish we all could find their veritable "storm water drain" otherwise known as our life's adventure. I know I'm still looking for mine which saddens me.

Very cool. I wish there were places like that where I live.
