Cocolio is a blog highlighting the intersection of clever design and eco-friendly technology. Based in Europe, it presents many fascinating projects seldom seen stateside.

From the page: "If you hang out a lot of the web, you probably have heard about the $1 million page. Its principle is dead simple: the page features 1 million pixels and allows you to book your tiny pixel-size ad for $1. Tree-Nation technique is comparable yet with a more citizen spirit. Instead of pixels, you support trees; instead of investing into an individual future fortune, you contribute to re-green desert areas in the Sahara." Contributing to piss-poor environmental management. Trees, over the full lifespan of seed to decay are highly positive carbon producers (most conifers are carbon positive while still alive), so your stupid lie that trees reduce carbon dioxide is a fallacy from the beginning. The stupid pseudo-science running the environmentalist movement is so backwards and wrong on so many levels, it would be extremely laughable that they have pulled the wool over so many people's eyes if it were not so pitifully sad. Not to mention the fact that the sand currently in the Sahara REFLECTS light and heat, while trees will absorb light, therefore heat, which will only increase warming in the local area.

If some of the items they highlighted work...which it would seem that they should...what a BOON for the recycling industry! If we could shift consumerism to compostable/recyclable consumables...that would be wonderful!

Great idea, someone should make a listing of night clubs that have a low impact on the environment.
