- Cavuto was wrong about all 43 presidents being Christians. Many were raised in a religion but as adults claimed no affiliation, and more than a handful were Deists, a religious philosophy that dismisses many of the basic claims of Christianity. see this list if you need a source. For the most part, any president in the last 100 years simply uses religion as a shortcut to prove he is somehow preapproved moral and trustworthy. And we still fall for it.
