Vista is good. This writer is bad.

This page hopes that the disappointment the newest Windows operating system gives people will make Microsoft lose market share. I've seen many such "predictions," from years and years ago. The possibility for a rapid, complete, and deadly victory for Linux remains probable. However, Linux still has much more work to do before it can strike the killing blow. My computer's wireless card exemplifies that. Truly skilled hackers and programmers sing a common tune, best exemplified by Abraham Lincoln's opinion that, "If I had a day to hack down a tree, I would spend the first six hours sharpening my axe." Before the pretty penguin's beak can redden with the blood of Windows, its edge must gleam, and its point must have the hardness of diamond.

He claims that dell and the like won't sell you a computer without vista. That's simply not true. Dell offers a small range of computers with Ubuntu linux preinstalled, and most of their computers are available with an XP option.

From the page: "Increasingly, consumers do not like. As a result, some manufacturers - bound by laws that say machines must be sold with an operating system - are bundling a cut-down Linux that won't run most of the machine's features but meets legal requirements." Seriously, that is just a fucked up statement.

From the page: "They work, they are free of charge and our own experience is that once users have spent a couple of days with them, they don't want to go back to Windows or MS Office." @sublime10c -- if you own and know how to use autocad why would you ever use Solidworks?

You can buy computers legally without operating systems if you specify business class because of things called volume licensing. Lets companies install previously bought and licensed software. Plus 95% of the people are not capable of running windows. If they were there would not be so many companies selling services to remove viruses, spyware, adware, and tune ups to your pc's.
