There are people who want this, and the fact that it sold shows that someone did bid.
I had the opportunity to peruse the collection before the whole mess began. To answer the question of what the contents are...pretty much EVERYTHING I could think of. Lots of rare limited pressings and the like. The owner wanted to preserve the collection, which is why it was offered as a whole. He even tried to make a deal with the Library of Congress, but decided to get some nice retirement cash instead.
