j0-j0 rated 2 months ago- ...awesome, cops don't want citizens communicating with each other about their behavior. wasn't there a similar issue with teachers in the news recently?

harrystottle rated 2 months ago- oh dear. The poor wee coppers are worried:
"Will they be able to access our home addresses, home phone numbers, marital status, whether or not we have children?"
Sauce Geese and Ganders spring to mind...- oh dear. The poor wee coppers are worried:

Kieranical rated 2 months ago- i love my city

meatbot rated 2 months ago- Let's not challenge authority now! Transparency is one way to defeat corruption.

stevedtrm rated 2 months ago- Website tries to hold cops accountable for their abuses.

DannyAndNina rated 2 months ago- Police agencies from coast to coast are furious with a new website on the internet. RateMyCop.com has the names of thousands of officers, and many believe it is putting them in danger.

anartgrey rated 2 months ago- The populace has to do something - police forces are becoming more militarized and more pathological in their actions. People are being 'tasered' for not signing speeding tickets, for not responding when in the midst of a medical seizure or for having Alzheimer's and not responding (the list goes on and on and is growing daily). The general populace is considered guilty long before they're proven innocent and the 'thug' mentality of (sorry to say) most police officers is being fed by the Federal government putting 'terrorist' labels on everyone from animal rights activists to people who donate to legitimate Muslim charities. So - gee, what a shock - an effort to at least publicize and track the performance of the police - they SHOULD be held accountable for their actions - good and bad. Sure wish there were more good than bad - but one need look no further than the evening news and police department cover-ups to see the truth. If ALL cops started behaving like cops - and not like militarized bullies whose enemy is the American people - then, guess what, such websites would not be necessary. It comes from the top down - no doubting that - if your government didn't see you as guilty until (and even after) proven innocent, then your local cops wouldn't either. Just sayin' that when the war monger in chief removes the right of Habeus Corpus from the country's citizens - and turns the country into a marauding empire that tortures and holds human life in such blatant disregard, one doesn't need to look far to understand why the 'cops' need monitoring.
