I drink bottled water regularly. I think most people do. However, the amount of plastic used (petroleum) and the waste that's generated as a result is staggering. I recycle and the bottles are a hefty percentage of the trash. What's wrong with going back to glass? The cost might go up ten cents or more per drink, but I'd be willing to pay it. I think a lot of people would.

When the Earth heats up that eighth of a degree there is not going to be enough bottled water to go around to cool us off. And it will all because the environmental leanings of the AG of the state of California blocked a chocolate company from opening up a bottle water plant. If only there was some way to pipe water into the home then there would only be a fraction of that fraction of a degree of impact on the enviroment. The people of California are going to be in a very sad state indeed.

From the page: "Attorney General Jerry Brown on Tuesday said he will sue to block a proposed water-bottling operation in Northern California unless its effects on global warming are evaluated."Former Governor Moonbeam, now lackluster Attorney General for California is nuts. Global Warming is a fraud. PET bottles do not pollute, unless they are discarded and not recycled. The raw materials from which the bottles are made come from, guess where? Mother Earth herself. So if the bottles are discarded they are only unsightly, not hazardous. However Californians do a good job recycling. The amount of water bottled by a modern plant adds up quickly, but viewed as a percentage is insignificant. Believe me, Nestle Corp are a bunch of enviro folk.

Personally I think drinking bottled water is a little silly. It tastes the same as tap water to me. However, I think the bottles are a source of a great deal of pollution not global warming related, and are thus wasteful. Not sure the plant should be blocked though.
