- One of my mutuals gave you a thumbs up. I don't know why. You are exceptionally average in every way. Perhaps congratulations are in order?

wakcher rated 3 weeks ago- A mighty stumbler! Just and fair. Positive overall, but not afraid to give the thumbs-down when the situation warrants! EDIT: He "discovered" the PBF comic "Magic Eyes" which is one of the best. That also adds to the awesome.

Raalnan5 rated 4 weeks ago- The price of gasoline is not affected by the amount of oil we have as it is the number of refineries we have. In addition, there are the taxes, the regulations, and the Democrat led congress, many of whom feel that high gas prices are good because they push Americans towards alternative energy. in our decision to not drill, we have not stemmed the flow of oil from the ground. Brazil, China, Cuba, and Russia are all happy to drill where we will not (off the coast of the US). further Regulation of the oil market will have the same effect it did during Carter's administration. You can't lower the cost of anything by adding administrative overhead. [http://www.stoptheaclu.com/archives/2008/06/18/house-dems-call-to- nationalize-oil-industry/]

- OK, first I want to make it clear that I have read the entire Obama quote.
Now, I can understand why you think that he was not insulting the religious or gun supporters. You think he was simply saying that people are focused on something other than the economy, so the economy drags, etc
It is simply because of this that it is insulting to the religious/gun owners. The very idea that "your opinions are what makes your economy suck" is kind of messed up, no? The word "cling" implies that people are scared of letting go, and are using what they are clinging TO for support of THEM. This is why it is insinuating something negative. I do not support gun rights so that I can feel good about myself - which, I can tell you as a gun supporter, is exactly what it sounded like Obama said. I support gun rights because I think they are morally correct.
Note that I said nothing about whether the economy was bad/the reasons for that/etc - this is because no one was mad about what Obama might have said about the economy in that quote. - OK, first I want to make it clear that I have read the entire Obama quote.
