sargt000 discovered 14 months ago- alberta really needs to get its head out of its ass. i can say that, as i lived and worked there for a couple of years. a lot of that work was flying over top of the boreal forest doing surveys, and let me tell you - it's like a big ol' maze of seismic lines and roads. we joked that if you ever get lost, just look for a seismic lines, it will get you to somewhere. they've permanently altered the flow of the peace athabasca delta with oil sands extraction, KO'd a bunch of their wildlife and are talking about increasing production of oil several times over. and it's producing this new breed of albertans (well, mostly people from other provinces that move to alberta for $$$) that are hated by the rest of western canada as greedy inconsiderate rednecks who are oil rich and socially/environmentally retarded. i'm all for a healthy economy, but not at these costs. the only good thing was the camps we stayed in had free porn in the rooms. thereby freeing up the communal big screen for CSI and survivor. (and, of course, the benefit of free porn in the rooms). end of rant. can you tell i'm not interested in working today? :)
