And I know, from long experience, where fascination leads... save the trees I think there's no doubt that if you're going to write it well you'll have to live it well also and sometimes you live it so well you kill yourself and can't write it at all which I think is more practical than writing it all and killing yourself later. 11-22-82

Bukowski is an often brutal, mysoginistic, alcoholic, wonderful author. To some he's an animal, to others, he's hope.
