Quick phrases used throughout books to cut stories short. Beautiful, isn't it?

Six word stories. Some are good.

6 word stories - although none of these stories are as good as the inspiration for the article (Ernest Hemingway's story,'For sale: baby shoes, never worn.'), my favourite is "The pillow smelled like my brother" by Patrick Neate. Imagine if Raymond Carver was still alive and taken part - he would have excelled at this.

Ernest Hemingway once said his best work was a story he wrote in just six words: 'For sale: baby shoes, never worn.' The Guardian challenges some contemporary authors to be equally economical.
