What a bunch of bullcrap. Watch out for all this green propaganda, using your good intentions of wanting to help the environment to combat your rational thinking. Legalizing hemp would be the single best move toward helping the environment and that is something that Obama will not consider, not for any benevolent reason like caring about forests, but because hemp is a threat to big oil, timber, and plastics special interests. Not to mention marijuana and hemp threatens the pharmaceutical industry, Marijuana being one of the best natural medications for all sorts of things, and hemp seeds being one of the healthiest foods on the planet. Don't kid yourself.

Hemp came long before any fertalizers or plastics, to say that a plant is not environmentally friendly is ludicrous. It is precisely the fact that it's illegal that causes damage to the environment. If anything, a legalized marijuana plant would drastically reduce selling price, making such obviously wasteful methods obsolete.

From the page: "For some reason, there seems to be a correlation between environmentalists and the legalization of marijuana, although Obama will not likely make it happen. Perhaps one reason for this correlation is the potential negative effect on our forests from illegal cultivation. From diesel spills to chemical fertilizers, the illegal cultivation of marijuana is polluting our forests and creeks. "
