From the page: "The intelligent design hoax is not merely non-science, nor even merely anti-science; it is anti-civilization." - Amen to that

From the page: "In a long, greasy detour, Stein shows that the Nazis were Darwinists. So what? They also liked skiing."

Yay! Happiness is the New York Times calling a "documentary" about intelligent design "one of the sleaziest documentaries to arrive in a very long time". SEE? When you try to be clever whilst talking about something that doesn't make any sense, you get what you deserve... made fun of. Oh, and by the way, Darwin, the quiet little English scientist who spent most of his life studying sparrows and earthworms in his back yard, is directly responsible for Hitler and Stalin. Wheeeee!

I have always equated the theory of intelligent design with the following metaphor: A man is on trial for murder. The lawyer for the prosecution asks him, "Where were you on May 21 between the hours of one and three PM?" The suspect scratches his chin, pondering over the question for a moment before answering, "At my house with my wife." "We questioned your wife sir," the lawyer counters, "And she says you were not home during the times indicated." "Oh that's right," the suspect says, "I was fishing at Lake Taboe during that time." "You have no fishing license sir," the lawyer says. The suspect clicks his teeth together and says, "I was hunting then." "You don't have a hunting license either." "Then the police are framing me," the man says with a smile.

I wonder what the NYTimes said... "One of the sleaziest documentaries to arrive in a very long time..." Oh. :D

From the page: "Stein quickly shifts the debate from a head-to-head assessment of analysis of data to frame the issue as one of freedom of speech" Got the reviews it deserves.

I think a friend told me I should watch this movie. After reading just a fraction of this page, I think I'll save myself the agony.

ID was born from the recognition by Christian fundies that creationism had an image problem. They decided that creationism, in order to survive, needed to be dressed up in scientific clothing. In doing that they tacitly admitted that creationism was a failed doctrine incapable of surviving on its own.

I'm grateful that someone put this together. I guess I was somewhat wrong about people, and I resolve to have at least a little bit more faith in them.
