If you're not a web developer you wouldn't understand.

I'm not a fan of Internet Explorer but I do design web pages and test them in a variety of browsers. If I was to use one of the "tricks" listed on this page then I'd instantly be alienating a very large percentage of potential viewers. Yes they should be (I feel) using Firefox or Opera 9 (a beautiful creation if ever there was one) but if they choose to use IE then let them. All blocking content from them will do is make them go elsewhere. A site saying "You can't view this unless you change your browser to one I have deemed more suitable" would not make me think "Hmmm, perhaps I should change browser." It's that simple. And if you think a picture of a seal being clubbed is funny then you need to jump off the nearest cliff. Also it would help if your page validated like you claim it does.

From the page: " By leaving that last DIV open as display:none; the rest of the page isn't shown to IE 6 users. Aint that great ? "

Look, IE sucks. We can all agree on that. But blaming users won't help. Nor will deliberately making your pages not work in the majority browser. I agree with Joe-anonymous - people will only switch if you show them features in Firefox that are better (tabbed browsing, extensions). Ranting at them about things they don't understand will just alienate them.

This looks to be a case of FFF (FireFoxFascist). It's not the way forward and never will be. I would never ever advise doing what the page suggests. The author has a bit of growing up to do. Want to promote Firefox (or any other browser)? Then tell people about the best features etc. and let them make an informed decision. Simple really...

Yes, because being a dick makes people want to visit your site much more. Just write clean (X)HTML and let them know that if their browser can't handle standard code where to go. All these 'hidden' features for IE just ruin good coding practices and your validation.

This is really, really childish, but speaking as a developer who writes clean XHTML strict and CSS, I hate ie with a passion every time I have to create a workaround because the style sheets get ignored, and I would happily place this code on any site -- providing it doesn't get me sacked. In my experience, most people who know nothing about the web use Internet Explorer (or a Mac -- and don't get me started about that!)

fuck you and all the other fucked up firefox fanboys.

So...the purpose of this page is to tell people that IE sucks? When I was introduced to Firefox, I was shown tabbed browsing, and loved it enough to switch. I did NOT come to Firefox because of web pages telling me that IE sucks just because it does. Tell people about the good, rather than the bad, and people will follow.

Put code in your page so IE7 users won't be able to view most of your page.
